Tools of the Trade

KSPRS uses an assortment of scientific equipment to better provide evidence and find answers.

DIGITAL CAMERA
​Digital cameras are used to capture photos of possible anomalies in homes or businesses during an investigation. An average of 400 photos are taken, in sequences of 3 or 4, during an investigation by numerous team members. This will increase the chance of capturing photographic evidence.

DIGITAL THERMOMETER
​These are used to measure a base temperature of a location before the investigation begins. The temperatures are documented, and then if an individual feels a cold spot, which is said to be a sign of paranormal activity, the change in temperature can be verified with the original readings. Spirits will draw energy from the environment in order to manifest or make a physical action that can affect the temperature.

DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER
Digital recorders are placed throughout the home or business to capture any sounds, electronic voice phenomenon, or disembodied voice. They are also tools to timestamp and document activities during an investigation.

DOWSING RODS
In theory, spirits/ghosts give off spiritual energy. Any energy that surrounds the dowsing rods will cause them to either cross or uncross. Team members who are experienced with the use of these investigative tools can attempt to contact a spirit to obtain answers to questions.

ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD METER
​These meters are used to detect large electromagnetic fields in homes and to detect paranormal activity. A reading of 2 to 7 MilliGauss (mG) is an indicator of paranormal activity. Any reading above this is normally an indicator of high electromagnetic field which can cause headaches, paranoia, skin rashes, visual disturbances, nausea and vomiting. KII devices are popular among investors as well as electronic meters such as the Mel Meter.

FLIR THERMAL CAMERA
All objects give off different temperatures. The FLIR thermal camera can pick up the surface temperature of different objects. In theory, when an entity starts to manifest, it will draw in heat energy around the area, causing either a cold spot or a hot spot. A cold spot would form because the heat energy is being sucked out of the air, causing the air around the entity to be cold. A hot spot would form because the heat energy is being sucked out of the air and confined into a specific area, causing a hot spot.

GHOST ROVER CAM
The remote controlled Ghost Rover gives you the power to investigate areas you may not be able to get to while providing live video and photos in full spectrum light. When a ghost/spirit manifests, it may appear in the light spectrum that we are unable to see with our naked eye. When using a Full Spectrum device, it covers all light spectrums that we can and cannot see with the naked eye.

ION GENERATOR
When running, this machine fills the atmosphere of the room with ions. It can be used outdoors. With electrically charged ions, the ions will give spirits the energy to manifest, or move an object, or touch someone or something. Our team has used this machine numerous times. We have been able to collect and capture more paranormal evidence than without using an ion generator.

LASER GRID (PROJECTOR)
​The green laser grid is used with handheld video cameras and digital photography cameras. The grid will show evidence of shadows and other entities if they pass through the grid. If a spirit walks in front of the laser, it will break the pattern and the cameras will capture the phenomenon for evidence.

MOTION DETECTORS
A motion detector will pick up any kind of movement that passes in front of the sensor. In theory, after a spirit/ghost has manifested and is moving around, it may pass in front of a motion sensor causing the unit to sound. Motion detectors are used to place in rooms or areas where paranormal activity has been reported. The sensors will detect only a "human size" anomaly.

NIGHT VISION VIDEO CAMERA
​Night Vision is used to see better in the dark by amplifying starlight, moonlight, and using an IR beam. IR stands for Infrared. If there is a spirit/ghost present during an investigation, you may see it better through night vision because the IR light may reflect off of the spirit/ghost allowing you to see it.

PARANORMAL PUCK
The Paranormal Puck monitors EMF, temperature, humidity, light levels, barometric pressure, movement,  static levels and provides real-time word responses based on the change in energy around the device. All of these variables are said to be indicators of paranormal activity.

SPIRIT BOX
The Spirit Box is a great compact tool for attempting communication with paranormal entities. It uses radio frequency sweeps to generate white noise which theories suggest give some entities the energy they need to be heard. When this occurs you will sometimes hear voices or sounds coming through the static in an attempt to communicate. 

TRIGGER PROPS
These items are attached to a small device that detects EMFs or movement at a close range. The trigger item is placed in a room or area that is believed to have activity. A spirit might relate to the item as something familiar to them and try to touch or move it. Some trigger props are antique dolls, toys, pocket watch, antique comb, and a brush and mirror set. Other items our team has used are baby doll carriage, small rocker, and a doll cradle.

WHITE NOISE
These sounds are played over an MP3 Player with speakers attached to better capture EVPs. If you play white noise during the investigation, it may attract spirits/ghosts. It is believed that spirits will use the noise to make themselves be heard. Investigators have also been known to use brown and pink noise.
